CapabilitiesThe computer program (PTRAN) developed by Dr. Adrian Boldy, Director of HydroSim Consultants Limited, is capable of simulating the transient response of any conceivable hydroelectric installation equipped with Francis, Kaplan, or Reversible Pump Turbines. A unique algorithm based on a curvilinear mesh superimposed on the turbine performance characteristics ensures accurate interpolation for the intermediated guide vane openings.
